The European Space Agency (esa.int) said it had observed a particular decrease in emissions of nitrogen dioxide, a gas emitted by the power plants, cars and factories, over Northern Italy after the lockdown imposed at the beginning of March.
The rapid virus outbreak, caused the most severe controls a government placed in a Western country since World War 2.
